One of the best things that have come out of my heart issue is meeting Jill and Julie from the American Heart Association. They both work on the Go Red for Woman initiative and are amazing! I met them last year when they wanted to hear about my story and with every question I'd ask about my heart health, they would send me information on it for give me a print out the next time she saw me. Besides being great company and great people, I love how willing they are to help in any way they can. They've given me cooks books so I can learn how to cook healthy, reading material so I can keep informed of everything relating to heart disease and even contacts at clinics that are doing break through research! They simply rock!

Today, I did something totally fun. The AHA Go Red for woman is participating in a fashion show at Stoneridge mall in Pleasanton Ca. They are using woman with heart stories as models and I get to participate =)

In addition, we will be able to model on TV, channel 5, on the show "The View from the bay" next week!! On The View, they will talk about each model's story.

I had to go pick out my outfit from Macy's ( who is dressing all the models for both events) today... at first, the lady that was helping us with the fitting handed me 3 dresses that were big enough to be P-coats on me. I got a little sad thinking...

" oh no, its going to be one of those cases where nothing is going to fit me because I'm so petite"

although I sent in my size (1-2) , the stuff put aside for me were size 5s. The lady must have noticed the look on my face cause she changed it around quick when she said

"don't worry hunnie, if these don't fit you, go ahead and look for something else"

I said " wow, I get to shop for anything else on this floor?,"

she said.. " No, you can shop for anything else on ANY floor of this whole store!"

OMG... I was a lil kid in a candy store!!

I had to get fitted at two difference Macy's stores for the two different events. I had a blast walking through the isles and never having to look at a price tag...........and can't wait to wear the beautiful dress I picked at the fashion show and the View!!

If you are in the area, the fashion show is on Friday 1/29 and it starts at 4pm at the Pleasanton Stoneridge mall's Macys.. stop by if you can!

That's awesome Anna! I would have love to show my support in person, but I will be on a plane headed to FL. I can't wait to see the pictures. I would have loved to see the event. The last fashion show I attended benefitted schools of SJ and it was fun shooting the event. You will do great and shine! =)
