I've had this irritating feeling for the past 3 days on my left eyeball while wearing contacts. Then I wake up today to find a lump on my eyeball. My eyes are red with just a bit of stinging. It sort of looks like pink eye too. It doesn't hurt and I can see fine. Just I can't wear my contacts. Could it be caused from wearing my contacts for too long? Not enough sleep? Eye makeup irritation? I don't know what it is! Sigh... I hope it goes away soon.

It could just be something got caught in your eye, and wearing contacts made the situation worse. In the past, when I've had eye irritations, I've avoided wearing contact lenses for a few days. That usually makes things get better faster.
If it does persist, definitely see a doctor.

Thanks Cuong. Will definitely do that. I was just told to take an allergy med just to see if it'll go away by morning too. I guess I'll find out when I wake up!

wearing contacts for a long time can actually plug up your tear ducts and will cause irritation to your eye overall. You can help this by putting warm pads on your eye followed by a special eye drop to flush it out. If your symptoms continue, see your optometrist to evaluate your tear ducts.

Turns out i got another lump on my eyeball just a few wks ago again! Finally got insurance! So it happens to be allergies. I had too much protein built up. It was caused by wearing contacts for longer then I'm suppose to, not cleaning it well, or using a cleaning solution that just didn't suit me. I got antibiotics and it's fixed my eyeball! So happy! Mystery solved!
